iCare SMSF Academic Scholarship Program
iCare Super was established on 15 March 2012 by a group of SMSF specialists. Since its inception, it has become one of the major independent SMSF services providers in Australia.
In the last 10 years, we have found there is no university in Australia that offers any degree-related course for Australian superannuation system and SMSF accounting and audit. This has resulted in huge skill shortage in SMSF industry.
iCare Super has been recruiting and training accounting talent and encouraging graduates to be specialised in SMSF compliance work, including accounting, audit, consulting and financial planning services. We are a fast growing accounting firm in the field of SMSF and offering our scholarship program in order to find and award prospective future SMSF specialists.
A self managed super fund (or SMSF for short) is one of the best options for those who want to exercise control over their own superannuation investments. Self managed superannuation has been around for more than three decades. Today, it stands as the largest superannuation sector, given the huge size of its funds and assets as well as domestic and international investment opportunities.
About the iCare SMSF Scholarship
Since SMSF is a rapid growing and changing industry, around 600,000 SMSF is operating and many more people are setting up their SMSFs nowadays. It is important for you to understand this thriving industry and put yourself into the career of SMSF. Here is the chance for you to learn and become a future SMSF specialist. This scholarship is for all undergraduates who are studying Accounting or Finance. We offer $3,000 to students in different disciplines, preferably for those who have outstanding academic records and have passion and are interested in SMSF industry.

- Citizenship: Open to both international and domestic full-time students
- Award value: $3,000 for one student each year
- Closing application date: 31 May each year
- Payment method: $250 per month for 12 months, starting from 1 July each month
Selection Criteria
Our SMSF Scholarship selection is conducted fairly and considers the following criteria:

Strong academic performance in the first or second years of university studies, including overall GPA and grades in accounting, finance, taxation, or related subjects.

Work experience in accounting or SMSFs, such as bookkeeping, tax preparation, or SMSF administration.

Academic awards received during university studies, as well as completion of SMSF-related courses, certifications, or professional training outside of the university degree.

Attach a copy of your resume with referees details and the most recent academic transcripts.
Attach an essay of at least 300 words that explaining what roles SMSF play in Australian Superannuation System.
The application will be closed on 31 May every year and the selection will be made by the director of iCare SMSF by no later than 30 June every year.
