Starting 1 July 2025, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) will implement updated fees for company services and business name registrations. These revised charges will remain in effect through 30 June 2026. If you operate or plan to start a business in Australia, here’s a breakdown of the key changes:
The fee to register a new company will rise to $611
The cost to reserve a company name will increase to $62
The annual review fee for proprietary companies will increase to $329
Special purpose companies will see an annual review fee increase to $67
The fee to apply for voluntary deregistration will increase to $50
Late payment penalties will also rise:
$98 if paid within one month of the due date
$411 if paid more than one month late
The 1-year registration or renewal fee will rise to $45
The 3-year registration or renewal fee will increase to $104
SMSF trsutees and business owners are encouraged to plan ahead for these changes to avoid any delays or penalties.
